  • Tape measure
  • Long-length mirror

  • Ideally, it is best to measure yourself with no clothes on.  Alternatively, you can wear thin cotton clothing, such as a vest and leggings that show off your beautiful silhouette.
  • Any thick or bulky clothing and footwear must be removed.
  • Face the mirror straight on.
  • Stand with your heels together with your weight evenly distributed across both feet.
  • Take a few deep breaths to relax and measure at the end of an exhale.
  • Keep the measure taut but not tight with a finger between the measure and your body
  • Stick to one type of measurement, either inches or cm.
  • Where the end of the measure meets the rest of the tape, record the measurement to the nearest half inch or cm.

Wrap the measure around you at your fullest point.

  • Wrap the measure around you at your narrowest point (likely to be midway between your last rib bone and the top of your hip bone).
  • If you are carrying most of your weight around your middle and it’s difficult to know where to take the measurement, place the measure one inch above your belly button.

Wrap the measure around you at your widest point (this is approximately 8 inches/20cm lower than where you measured your waist).

Otherwise known as ‘Inseam’

  • Turn to your left so you can see your right profile in the mirror.
  • Lay the measure flat on the floor with the measurement you do not want to record facing up.
  • Keep hold of the measure with your right hand and stand on the measure with your left heel.
  • Slowly bring the measure straight up to meet the top of your inside leg.
  • Read the measurement (use the mirror if necessary) that is just below your ankle bone.
